Help for today & Hope for tomorrow

I am new to this site.  I have lost my husband 9 months ago and find the pain intolerable.  The only thing that seems to help is talking to people who are experiencing the same torture.  Does anyone have and adive to lessen the pain?

Hi Ellen and Katherine,

I find that everyone says they are sorry for your loss, but the only people who truly understand are those who have lost a loved one, specifically a spouse.  It is a specific type of never ending pain.  The feeling is absolutely horrible.  Having lost my husband 9 months ago, I find I never know when the anguish will happen, or where it will happen,  It is totally out of my control.  I tell people my hear actually hurts.

My children are adults and my heart goes out to you Ellen, having to explain what happened to two children.  When they are young, they seem to feel that somehow it is their fault.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Sudden heart attack at 41

Did your husband pass away, Ellen, or leave? I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I'm here if you ever need to talk.
