Help for today & Hope for tomorrow

For many members here, this will be the first Thanksgiving holiday spent without our loved one.  I realize it is hard to think of anything to be thankful for when you are grieving.  I pray you are surounded by the love and suport of friends and family.  And take time to remember all the happiness you shared with your loved one and be grateful they were in your life ...

Please take a moment to share a memory of your loved one with us.  We'd love to hear it.

Big Hug,

I am thankful for my children and friends. They have helped me out more then my family. This is my kids and my first major holiday with there father .
My husband would take the kids out the park so I can cook the rest of our thanksgiving dinner

Nice! Thanks for sharing Carrie.  I'm so glad you are grateful for your children and friends; they can really help get you through ... I wish you a Thanksgiving filled with warmth and love.

Hi Everyone! Thank you Judy for the post. Thanksgiving is extremely difficult time for many for me it brings sad memories of Jeff spending his last Thanksgiving alone before he passed away. I knew him such a short time before he passed  and I realized he didn't have any close family in California . I invited him to share Thanksgiving with my family but of course he hesitated, I think because he wasn't feeling well. He did think about it and never said no but never said  yes. I went on  spend Thanksgiving dinner  with my family and  thinking about him and knowing he was  alone and i couldn't help but feel sad. I truly wished I gotten in the car and drove to see him but I didn't and its one regret I will live with forever it would have been the only holiday we would had shared together and I wouldn't feel the guilt of knowing he was alone. We had plans to see a movie that weekend we never made it to the movies I never saw him again before Thanksgiving and I never heard his voice again the weekend after. The gift of faith has helped me through out this journey and I'm Thankful for that.

I am thankful for the best years of my life with my best friend of 23 years. She passed away on Thanksgiving in 2000. Not a day goes by that I still don't miss her like crazy! My best friend forever ! Tori
