Help for today & Hope for tomorrow

A third person has died of injuries suffered when a pickup slammed into a car stopped at a construction site near Crosby Tuesday evening.

The Highway Patrol reports 31-year-old Lesley Gunderson of Noonan died yesterday.

His daughters, 8-year-old Shelly and 2-year-old Shayleigh were killed at the scene of the accident.

His son, 4-year-old Shelton, was taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot. He was released from the hospital this morning.

The Gundersons were in a car that was stopped at a road construction site about three miles east of Crosby just before 6:30 Tuesday evening when their car was hit by a pickup truck.

The truck's driver, 49-year-old Willilam Koehler of Chiefland, Florida, was slightly injured in the crash, but did not require hospitalization.

The flagger at the construction site was hit by debris but also did not go to a hospital.

All three of the children were using safety restraints at the time of the crash.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
