Hi,

I am devastated after losing my husband of 17 years two months ago. Getting through a day is still a struggle for me.

I don't know if i will ever find solace and feel the same way as I was before.

Hi Rachel,
I'm at the 2 year mark in two weeks. The grief is still there and lately many nights I speak with Elizabeth in my dreams, it helps me remember her, but waking up brings the sadness. Everyone told me it would get easier and it has, it will for you too! Grief is the price we pay for love and I'm happy that I had that kind of love in my life. Some people never get to know that. Hang on Rachel!

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your reply. It's been 14 months now since my husband's passing. I think about him every day or I should say that the realization that he is no more dawns on me every day. But, I have gotten better and don't wake up with sadness in the mornings. I am doing things that I enjoy like gym, dance classes to keep myself occupied. I am also reaching out to my friends more than before.

I would say things do get easy with time but memories are always there in your head. It just becomes less painful when the memories come back to us.
