Help for today & Hope for tomorrow

I don't know what else to do for my boyfriend...PLEASE HELP!

I'm needing advice for my boyfriend. He's suffered through a lot of losses, which include deaths and relationships, and he told me that he's numb to the world. He is unable to get past the anger phase of the grieving process. He fights it like he's totally in control, but whenever I would get emotionally upset and cry, he couldn't handle it and always pulled away from me. Our relationship isn't the problem, it's his inability to heal his heart so he can receive and give love. I hope someone will help me ASAP. I don't know if I should just let time heal him even though it's been soooo long or if I should try and help even though he told me to just go away. It's been 5 days and he always goes silent when he gets like this. What do I do?

Hi Tyanna,

Thank you for sharing your story about your boyfriend.  Communication is key to grief recovery.  Perhaps you could tell him about this site so he can reach out to others who have been in his shoes.  He can also look into a local grief group through www.GriefShare.org

It's normal for him to not want to share his feelings of grief and loss with you because he doesn't want to appear weak.  But he can reach out to other members through the Network, Member Blogs and Forum Chats.  The chat room tends to have more people in it at night.  The Home Page has some good Blog Posts too.  I pray the resources here provide Help for Today & Hope for Tomorrow.  You take good care of yourself.  BIG hug!

God bless,

Judy
