Hi Sue,

I'm sorry to hear about your father; your mother and family were blessed to have him for a very long time.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings; it's the first step toward grief recovery.  After my husband died, my younger sister who is un-married has spent the night Christmas Eve for the last 10 years.  It's been a tradition the last 10 years and my son (15) still loves it and counts on it.  It brings us al comfort and joy. So I recommend doing that for your mother, if you can.  It's nice to not wake up alone Christmas morning.  You may be surprised at the new traditions you begin ...

I pray this site provides Help for Today & Hope for Tomorrow,

Thank you so much Judy....i'm sorry for your loss...but am thankful you have close support.

I mention spending christmas eve nite to my mom and simple traditions we could begin...the two of us. She resisted at first but then  I joked "maybe its not all about you mom, maybe I need it" Then she chuckled and gave in....she's an old fashioned apron gal so told her we' d shop for new aprons to cook food for family there on christmas eve and maybe get new jammies....she's such an adorable lil 84 year old!

Thank youfor your encouragement and having this room available...

Hope you are having many reasons to smile today!!
