Help for today & Hope for tomorrow

My daughter passed away unexpectedly on 7/27.  She was very attached to her cat Tigger.  Her cat keeps looking for her and sitting by her door.  She and my daughter were inseparable since Tigger was a little kitten. My daughter was special needs and really related to her cat.  I don't know what to do to help the cat or myself for that matter.  It just makes me even more sad than I already am to watch her kitty looking for her.  I think animals are very intuitive and she probably knows but it makes me so very sad to watch her kitty look for her.  She sits by her bedroom day and night calling my daughter and it breaks my heart.  Any ideas?

Janet,

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter.  Thank you for sharing your feelings.  Communication really helps in the recovery process.  I agree that animals are intuitive.  It's been 6 weeks, so Tigger must know that your daughter isn't returning.  Perhaps you two can provide much needed love and comfort to each other right now.  Whenever I'm down, my dog Robbie gets extra long hugs and cuddle time.

Hi Janet

Sorry to hear about your daughters passing. God give you and your family strength.

Animals that are attached will feel the loss just like us. Its important to hug and cuddle with tigger as much as possible its also in need of affection in this time. Maybe you could talk to tigger let her know your daughter is okay.
